I am happy to get to share photos and tell you about our friends with Pathways2Power! Our dear friend Karen and her students from Thurgood Marshall Academy are amazing! While we typically don’t do senior sessions, this one was extra special and we had so much fun doing it!
As our friend Katrina posted this morning, If you’re in DC, the most immediate way you can contribute to the conversation about gun violence is to show up at this mural dedication this Friday, August 9, off Barracks Row. If you can’t make Saturday, get to this mural as fast and as frequently as you can. We residents of the Nation’s Capitol must lead the national conversation by acknowledging the ways in which we have failed to protect our youth and taking ownership of the safety of our children. America’s youth deserve the right to life – which includes a violence-free education and a violence-free commute to and from school. Get to know the mural’s organizers and their work!
Here’s the Washington Post article, Â a moving news segment with Lauryn about the mural, the event info, and their GoFundMe page
