On June 21, 2015, we got married at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, DC. The Hay-Adams is known for it’s tremendous views of DC and the White House! It was better than we could have asked for or imaged!
We decided to plan a wedding sooner rather than later. In April we signed a contract with the Hay-Adams and started planning an intimate wedding in 10 weeks! That same day, John generously sent me to Paris in lieu of planning a big honeymoon for us. My dear friend Brooke was on a month long bucket list trip to Paris and asked several close friends to join her. We staggered our visits so she always has someone with her. Sadly, in 2016 Brooke passed away from cancer. Although our wedding was beautiful, the week that I spent in Paris was the best week of my life. I am so grateful for how Brooke changed my life! Read more about the fellowship for women in aerospace here! We were so happy that Brooke felt well enough to attend the wedding and we were happy that her mom was able to join us as well!
We loved how laid back the intimate wedding was! And we were fortunate that both sets of parents planned celebrations in our home towns of Kingsport, TN, and Pittsburgh, PA! It worked out beautifully! Here’s a little walk down memory lane to celebrate our anniversary!
Check out the beautiful video, narrated by Brooke!
Happy Fourth Anniversary, John! You are amazing and I love you so very much!
